Our high speed steel industrial quality hand taps last longer than carbon steel hand taps. Although we stock Plug Style Taps, they are available in three different types : (1) Plug Taps, which are generally used in through holes, and are the most popular, (2) Taper Taps, which start the thread in the work piece, and (3) Bottoming Taps, which generate thread to the bottom.
